Big news … ⁣

We’re moving from California to Washington!! I’m equal parts sad, nervous and excited for this new adventure.⁣

I don’t know how to put into words what SLO County means to me. If you know me at all, you know it’s more than just a place. ⁣

It’s also independence, college, finding myself, adulting, career, newspapers, people, friendships, community, starting over, motherhood, finding myself again, beauty, home.⁣

If it was solely up to me, I’d never leave.⁣

But Bowen and I made a pact 12 years ago that we would live where I wanted first (Paso) to build my journalism career and then live where he wanted to after (Bay Area or Seattle). ⁣

And since I’m a stubborn Scorpio and he’s a supportive Taurus, I’m 10 years overdue on my end of the bargain. 😅⁣

So it’s time for me to take his hand to lead us into a new chapter in the PNW. You know what they say: always keep your promises. ✌🏻⁣

But … I told Bowen the second he dies, I’m moving back to Paso, 🤣😇.⁣

We are moving at the beginning of August, then house hunting in the stretch of towns between Seattle and Tacoma.⁣

You guys know I love you. My community: the mamas, friends, family, sources who followed me from the Trib, people I just met and people I’ve known forever. Friends who I only know online. Everyone. Thank you for all the support and for all the fun. ⁣

Part of the magic of being a blogger is I’m not going away 🌞 I’ll keep my blog and pages going. ⁣

Ps. Will you still follow me when we aren’t in CA anymore? 😭 While I’ve learned we can’t predict anything, I do plan to keep this space the same – our adventures. In life, in travel, wherever we are.⁣

And I’ll still take you along for all of it. 🧡.
