We’ve visited Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium a lot lately. It’s the perfect burn-all-that-kid-energy option for even the rainest…
This year, the kids and I walked across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge – something I’ve been wanting to do since we moved here!
After weeks of rain, we saw a moment of sunlight and dry skies. So with a skip, hop, and one possibly illegal parking spot later, we went for it!
And now I can say with certainty that the bridge walk was absolutely incredible for us, but only after I discussed a few safety rules with the kids. You’ll see why in a minute.
Read on for all the deets on how we walked the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from the Gig Harbor side.
St. Joseph Medical Center’s 1970s spaceship vibes make it a must-see from the car window for kids (and adults) of all ages!
A transformative middle-earth adventure awaits you at The Brothers Greenhouses in western Washington – and it’s a masterpiece.
Patterson’s autumn attractions offered a little bowling game, rubber ducky derby water spout races and a ball toss game. And it’s all free.
Yesterday we hiked – in the rain! We came prepared with waterproof jackets, so this California girl actually thought it was pretty magical. This kidventure started at the Tacoma Nature Center. We met up with new school friends there to explore its forest-inspired Discovery Pond playground, where all its play structures are designed to look like boulders and trees. There’s a treehouse, climbing rocks and a metal slide inside a hollow log! All made complete with slatted bridges and little creeks to explore.
Save this post for your PNW Bucket List! Here we are at Bella Bella Beach, a new-to-us spot on Fox Island. It’s officially called the Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit, but the locals here call it by the name of the road it’s on. Does telling you this make us locals yet? 😉
An outdoor rooftop pool – a rarity in rainy Washington – and a jetted jacuzzi spa inside our room are just some of the reasons Bowen and loved our 10-year (#hosted 🙌🏻) anniversary trip to Tacoma’s brand new @silvercloud.pointruston hotel.
Snazzy waterfront views of Commencement Bay are just one of the cool things about Tacoma Washington’s famous Waterwalk at Point Ruston.
The Alderbrook Resort & Spa in Union Washington is a dreamy Pacific Northwest getaway boasting rooms with a view, rare Hood Canal waterfront access, and the absolute coolest and most whimsical surprises during the holidays. We felt pampered and taken care of — and we can’t wait to go again. At the Alderbrook Resort & Spa in Union Washington, I felt safer with the hotel’s thoughtful pandemic protocols such as hand sanitizer stations everywhere, clear rules posted, and a well-organized crowd-control reservation system at the pool area. Plus, they implemented all these in cozy/home-like ways that weren’t sterile or scary which I appreciate for my little fam.
