Last weekend Jurassic Quest came to our city, filling the Paso Robles Events Center with all the family-friendly dinosaur goodness of life-like animatronic dinosaurs, crafts and play. Think day at the natural history museum, but you get to ride the dinos.

Beach days — I love them. I hate them. Overall, beach or not, I would say about half of our adventures go well. It’s totally my kids’ ages, though. Some adventures just aren’t fun with a 1 and 3 year old. Or part of the adventure is fun, but then the end goes so downhill it’s basically just a giant tumble and fall. In June, a friend and I took our children to the Elfin Forest in Los Osos. The 90-acre county and state park encompasses an estuary and woodlands with scenic walking trails. It also includes a pygmy oak forest and opportunities for some really awesome Instagram-worthy photography of your kids.
