The other day we discovered the Morro Bay Marina Boardwalk in scenic Morro Bay, California. Fresh ocean-scapes, quaint harbor views and a slatted boardwalk trail await you on this super easy scenic walk with the kids.
This Central Coast fishing town is about 40 miles west from our house in inland Paso Robles, so it makes for the perfect day trip. I have thoroughly explored Morro Bay in the past, (check out my Morro Bay Embarcadero With Kids post here).
But when I went kayaking with my tourism crew this summer, I spied the boardwalk, aka the Marina Peninsula Trail, way over on the south side, and I had never known it was there. The trail meanders offshore in a much smaller part of the harbor and leads hikers to an overlook of the estuary. I had always wanted to go back there to test out the walk with the kids. It’s less than a mile in total, and has several branched routes for making it shorter or longer.
Which is always appreciated with kids.
See you on the trail!
