I’m happy to report that my very first Washington newspaper column is on the cover of Gig Harbor Now today. In fact, my blog posts will regularly appear in this hyperlocal news site as we officially launch a Two In Tow column twice a month to tell stories about places to take kids in and around Gig Harbor.

Now that the PNW is miraculously sunny and warm, I’ve made it my personal mission to avenge the cold weather misfortunes of parka-clad “Winter Tonya” and hit up aaaalll the beaches, splash pads, and parks in tanks and shorts for as long as the sun will have me.
Dramatic? Yes. But, true? Double yes.
All of this summertime go- go- going makes it super important for the kids and me to recharge when we get home. So when Babbleboxx offered to send me its latest Outdoor Adventures box of goodies to test out for products designed to hydrate, fuel, and energize, I gladly accepted.

This book was a fun springboard into talking about the concept of imaginary friends and the power of their imaginations.
Continuing my authors of color series, today we’re taking a look at the coloring book “Coloring Your Way to Better…
For our top knots, we used @gimmebeauty bands. They’re stretchy, come in lotsa sizes and promise no slipping or snagging.
If you have a kiddo who’s curious about life under the sea, I encourage you to check out “Ronnie and the Fishes” by Barbara J. Regan. It features main characters of color, childhood drawings, pretty illustrations and a good balance of science nestled within the storytelling. My only complaints are the book is a little long for the age group, and I’d prefer to see more digital illustrations than scanned-in drawings. Overall, though, I applaud Regan’s effort to tell a fun story in this self-published piece. Plus, I believe she’s in her early 80s, so huge props to her for being such an awesome example of someone who follows their dreams regardless of age.
