I’ve written about Paso Robles’ Victorian Teddy Bear Tea so many times, I could recite all its details in my sleep. But I had never taken my children to it until 2017. And what a treat it is seeing it through their eyes.
You know that big wooden mural at the corner of Beechwood Drive and Meadowlark Road on Paso’s east side? The one of the little girl in the floral farmhouse dress with the big frilly collar who’s sitting next to a boy in overalls, sweetly holding a bouquet of flowers?
Such a charming Paso Robles staple, right? Well, Facebook helped me unveil the story behind it. And here’s how it happened!
All in all, we have a lot of fun at The Slice Pizza & Games in Paso Robles. From a game featuring a giant Minion to a classic claw booth that dishes out a prize every time, I’m genuinely impressed by the business’ family-friendly atmosphere that’s welcoming but also modern.
Here’s our June 1, 2018 column featured in PASO Magazine. It’s all about one of our fave kid-friendly walks in town, which leads to a neat display of public art!
Centennial Trail is a roughly 1 mile stretch of flat, paved pathway from Lana Street to Mohawk Court on the city’s east side. The trail is stroller-friendly and completely off-road. The trail also features a seasonal creek, a canopy of beautiful twisty oaks and spots to see deer. The trail is popular with joggers and dog walkers, but we like to buddy up when venturing anywhere off-road or out of view of others.
The lower half of Barney Schwartz Park reopened this winter with a new playground. And, I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome.
Here’s the abridged version of our review of Come Play, as published in the February 2018 edition of PASO Magazine in print and online. Come Play has four dedicated indoor play spaces for bounce houses, basketball, toys and a giant play structure. It’s designed to entertain babies to middle schoolers.
