This book was a fun springboard into talking about the concept of imaginary friends and the power of their imaginations.
Continuing my authors of color series, today we’re taking a look at the coloring book “Coloring Your Way to Better…
If you have a kiddo who’s curious about life under the sea, I encourage you to check out “Ronnie and the Fishes” by Barbara J. Regan. It features main characters of color, childhood drawings, pretty illustrations and a good balance of science nestled within the storytelling. My only complaints are the book is a little long for the age group, and I’d prefer to see more digital illustrations than scanned-in drawings. Overall, though, I applaud Regan’s effort to tell a fun story in this self-published piece. Plus, I believe she’s in her early 80s, so huge props to her for being such an awesome example of someone who follows their dreams regardless of age. This book is available to purchase in my #diversebooksforkids Influencer Shop on Amazon!
This Christmas season, we read Clara and Wyatt the children’s book “Letter from Santa Claus” we were gifted by author Robin Jones.
Overall, this is a sweet tale from the past with heartwarming illustrations and a fun historical element. My only complaint is I would’ve Iiked a warning about the story’s religious references on how Santa’s elves came to be.
This book has a cute story, a good rhyming flow, and an endearing main character. It’s all about a young sloth who learns who he truly is.
Today we’re excited to be reviewing local author Jerome Jones’ Healthy Kids Books series, featuring a pair of siblings in Pismo Beach, California!
The public is invited to “Take a Book, Share a Book” at the Paso Robles Children’s Museum’s Little Free Library now installed at 623 13th St. in downtown Paso Robles, Calif. Designed by American company Simplay3, this Sharing Library is a modestly-sized box on a stand that reaches nearly 5 feet tall and features a clear plexiglass door so the books stored inside are clearly visible. All you do is open the little door to take a book + leave a book.
One thing I really love doing as a blogger, is getting the opportunity to review children’s books through the Independent Book Publishers Association. Our latest sample is the Easter basket-worthy “It’s Just a Bunnypalooza” by Brenda Faatz and illustrated by Peter Trimarco.
\It’s never too early to teach kids about how to work against stereotyping of any kind. This book does that with Frankie’s gender-neutral and approachable story.
