After being under construction for what felt like forever, the Thelma Vetter Red Panda Experience is now open. And thank goodness, because those little cinnamon-tufted mammals are our favorite!
This cup has beautiful print designs but unfortunately, the button to open the lid is super sensitive. We bumped it open while carrying the cup in a bag, so it leaked all over everything. Since we’re usually on the go, accidently pressing the open button would happen all the time, and I wouldn’t chance traveling with it because of that.
You know that big wooden mural at the corner of Beechwood Drive and Meadowlark Road on Paso’s east side? The one of the little girl in the floral farmhouse dress with the big frilly collar who’s sitting next to a boy in overalls, sweetly holding a bouquet of flowers?
Such a charming Paso Robles staple, right? Well, Facebook helped me unveil the story behind it. And here’s how it happened!

Shrouded in the hush-hush tendencies of 1920s-style unlicensed saloons, those in the know can gain entrance to 1122 Cocktail Lounge & Speakeasy through a back-alley door behind Pappy McGregor’s pub on Railroad Street in Downtown Paso Robles. Is it worth the wait? I’d say.
Today we explored a segment of the Salinas River Walk that offers Atascadero Creek access, picnic benches and a quaint meadow off San Gabriel Road and Hwy 41 in Atascadero. This post also includes information on more trails in Atascadero, info about the larger Salinas River Walk and the historic de Anza National Historic Trail.
DAY 4 in our #CentralCoastTopNineWonders series takes us along the vast coastline adjacent to Morro Rock at Morro Strand State Beach. This three-mile stretch of coast is my favorite beach. It has sand dunes, the famous snowy plover and prime sanddollar-hunting at low tide.
DAY 3 of our #CentralCoastTopNineWonders is …. iconic Morro Rock.
I’ve always been so in love with this geological staple on our coast. It makes a fantastic backdrop for photos of the kids, and can be seen far away in the distance.
